Police want GPS on phones to solve crimes

Police have said that they want all phones to have GPS systems so they can track victims and suspects. 20% of phones currently have GPS in South Korea.

“The National Police Agency “will consult with pertinent government agencies to pursue the installation of a GPS receiver on all mobile phones,” Song Gang-ho, investigation director of the agency, said in a press conference.”

They are also discussing tagging kids in schools to ensure they can locate them at any time. Docomo have an interesting service which I saw at the ‘07 3gsm that may fit the bill.

I really enjoy this hobby, my daughter and I have been participating in it for awhile now. We are contemplating purchasing a Magellan RoadMate for our vehicle.
